African playwrights in Libreville to celebrate film festival

African theater specialists congregate in Libreville on Oct. 5-10 to celebrate the sixth edition of the International film festival of Gabon (FITHEGA), according to organizers.

About 10 groups coming from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Chad, Central African Republic and Gabon will showcase their talent during the festival.

The discussions around the theme of the meeting and the professional workshops have been planned for the festival, which takes place at the French Cultural Center in Libreville.

The organizers said they want to spread this artistic form across the continent in a bid to conserve Africa’s traditional culture, which is in danger of loosing young people.
